The eCommerce Wave Just Keeps Growing and Growing

There is no shortage of research telling us that eCommerce sales are growing at an extremely fast rate and there are no signs of them slowing down anytime soon!

In today’s world, the increasing adoption of mobile phones has led to a very connected digital world. In turn, responsive eCommerce websites and apps have allowed customers to buy what they want from the convenience of their own home, without ever having to leave their couch. Consumers have moved past the ‘in-person shopping experience’ and have become accustomed to comparing prices across the internet for the best deal. They are more concerned with how fast the product will ship to them as opposed to how chaotic the shopping mall may be. Don’t get us wrong, for some there will always be a thrill around shopping store to store, but even the most avid ‘shoppers’ are coming to prefer the convenience of shopping online.

Global online retail sales are growing and are estimated to reach 8.8% of total retail spending in 2018 as compared to 7.4% in 2016. In terms of country, UK has the highest retail E-commerce sales as %age of total retail sales (15.6%), followed by China (13.8%), Norway (11.5%), Finland (10.8%) and South Korea (10.5%).
